Mentoring terms

These terms apply to mentoring with Scarlett Lu. The written plan and mentoring agreement you sign before we start take priority over this page.

  1. What mentoring is

Career guidance offered in a personal capacity. It isn’t legal advice and doesn’t create a lawyer–client relationship. I can’t guarantee any job, offer or outcome.

  2. Conflicts

I don’t mentor current colleagues or clients of my employer, or lawyers at firms I work with. Before we start, you confirm in the mentoring agreement that no conflict of interest applies to you. You’re responsible for that confirmation and for how you use our sessions. If a conflict arises, either of us can end the mentoring straight away.

  3. Confidentiality

Please don’t share client names, deal details or other confidential information about any employer, including your own. What you tell me stays between us, unless the law requires otherwise.

  4. How we start

After the free first call, I send you a written plan and a mentoring agreement. Sessions begin once you’ve signed it.

  5. Fees

Fees are confirmed in writing before we begin, and students receive a discount.

  6. Rescheduling and cancellation

You can reschedule free of charge with at least 48 hours’ notice. Sessions cancelled later, or missed, count as used. If I need to cancel, we rearrange the session or I refund it.

  7. Ending early

Either of us can end the mentoring at any time by email. You pay only for sessions already held and late cancellations, and I refund the rest.
